VICTORIAN YOUTH &SEXUAL DIVERSITY PROJECT
This
project works in rural Victoria to raise awareness about homophobia.
Did you know around 69,600 young people are attracted to
people of the same sex? In the state of victoria alone 40% of same
sex attracted young people,have attempted suicide, most of these
sucides occur before a young person comes out.
We
all know the cause of this and these are the figures from the
Victorian Health Department and the Way Out Project. Same sex
attracted young people experience difficulties at school, through
homelessness, family conflict, 15% experience physical abuse and 44%
verbal abuse because of there sexuality,74% of the abuse occured at
school.
MUMS
& DADS wouldnt you like your children to have the same rights as
all other children no matter which path they choose in life?
All
children should be able to tell the truth about there lives and not
have to lie and live double lives. All kids should be loved and
cherished as the future of our nation.
Its still very sad that
the gay kids & adults of this nation still dont have the same
rights as all other Australians. The dark days of the John Howard
years are over so please write to the Australian Government to demand
equal rights for All Australians.
AS TAX PAYING AUSTRALIANS -
we deserve the right for all australians to be EQUAL.
The
government is quite happy to take the taxes of gay people which is
well over 1 million Aussies.
And
to all the homophobes right wing religious groups this is what you
are doing to the future kids of Australia.
